Happy new year! Welcome to the Fishing Report. It’s “Twenty Ten”. We are on top of a mountain with a bunch of friends looking down on the snow-covered valley. It is cold. Up here it is probably in the teens. It looks like we have less than an inch of snow on the ground. Right now, driving off this mountain would be almost impossible. We may get some more snow. We don’t mind. They say the high today will be 29 degrees in the valley. And tonight the Weather Service is predicting a low of 12 degrees down there. It will be a lot colder than that up here.
I don’t know what the water temperature is today. I can take a wild guess and tell you it is cold. Fishing is slow. It is going to be that way for a while. 2009 was one of the wettest years we’ve seen in a long time. This year is starting out to be a cold one. Not many people will be fishing in the Smokies until we get some warmer weather.
As far as I know the shop is open. Maybe I better call to be sure. Glenn answered the phone. I asked if they were open. He said “Yes we are”. I told him I am Byron Begley. He said, "I don’t know a Byron Begley". I guess they have already forgotten about me. There must be a lot of customers in the shop right now. Daniel was too busy to talk.
Glenn did say two guys were in the shop getting ready to go fishing. I hope they don’t fall in.
I better get back to the task at hand, having a good time with friends.
Have a great day and thank you for being with us today.
