Hello, I would appreciate any information/opinions from anyone concerning the "new" Scott s4 rods, particularly the 905-4 offering. I am going to Montana this summer(June) and would like to be prepared. I own a 3wt.and 2 4wts. (winston LT's). Thanks, Doublegun

Can't comment on the S4, but I do have a Scott G2 905-4. It is my favorite rod.

I fished the S4 905-4 for several days in Colorado this past fall. It was a great rod that did everything I asked of it. Whether fishing double nymphs, a hopper-dropper rig or swinging wet flies it performed great. I found it easy to roll cast and it is super accurate. It is a fast action rod which certainly suited my casting style.

I own both the 7 and 8 wts and really love those rods for bonefishing. The S4's are tack drivers.

I haven't had the chance to cast one, but those S4 rods sure do look sharp. The California buckeye burl reelseat is very appealing, in my opinion. Also, the faster action of the S4 would add some diversity to your collection. Besides, I really want to test it out next time we fish together.

Scott makes some fine rods, i've heard good reports about the S4.

I guess I should explain, grousegunner is my 21 yr. old son. He is attending college in Danville, KY.

I met Grousegunner over at Dewey Tailwater a couple of months ago. He is a fine young man! He is also a good fisherman. We plan on fishing the Cumberland River if they ever get it back to normal.

He mentioned having met you, and I am wondering if he ever passed the message along to you about a TU chapter starting up in Paintsville?

He sure did, and I told him I was definitely interested and to keep me posted.
