View Full Version : How is the Clinch fishing?

I thought about fishing the clinch this saturday, but have been reading that it has been fishing very slow, as of late, for flyfishermen. Does anyone know if it has picked up, or believe it will by this weekend? I will be fishing millers island. If it doesn't pick up what should i consider using/if it does pick up what would be my best bet?

The bugs coming off Saturday were very small, like 24 size. I caught less than 50. Ok less than 40, but it was a good day.

I would fish small nymphs dropped behind a blue dry fly of choice.
the fish see a lot of flies, so if you have some good uncommon nymph's that you like, I might try those.
Stay small. The fish I caught were on a nymph that was probably a 20-22 in size. they can see it which is all that matters.
Good luck and post pics or notes on how it goes for you.

Fished Wed for about 2hrs. Caught 8, all in the 10"-13" range, except for one 21.5" bruiser. Using a #12 bead head nymph that I tie with yellow golden stone dubbing. I know, go figure, but the trout love it.
