I went fishing on Tuesday, caught several very, very small rainbows on Abrams creek. Parked at the beginning of the trail and intended on fishing the horseshoe, but had trouble finding it off the trail. Anybody know any good landmarks to indicate where to start fishing? Thanks.

When you walk down the Abrams Falls Trail, you will come to a small hill in about 1/4 mile. Keep going down the trail and after you have traveled about 1/2-3/4 mile you will come to a larger and higher hill. Cross that second hill and when you reach the bottom of it and come to the creek again, you will be at the lower entrance of the Horseshoe. Start fishing upstream and after about 8-9hrs you will come back to the trail at the upper entrance. A long and arduous trip, but a great one. Be safe, take a buddy.

Me and a buddy fished the little horseshoe last year and it was awsome. we each caught about 30-35 trout. most were around 10in some bigger and most all fish came on a yellerhammer on the swing and some on the dead drift. The water had a little color to it also. best of luck on your next adventure and be careful.tight lines

Expanding a bit on what Hugh said, you'll know the top of that second hill by the fact that it is actually a pretty sharp ridge.
