View Full Version : Wading the Clinch

I've been fishing mostly on the Holston and in the Smokies and would like to fish the Clinch but I don't have a boat to float it and am not familiar with that area. Can someone direct me to a place to wade the clinch? Directions will be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you know the area alittle and can find your way up to Norris Dam State Park:
option 1. Pick a parking lot between the dam (Norris dam) and the weir dam.
option 2. Turn on River Road and take a right into the first parking lot. Should be a boat ramp and a large parking area. I believe this is the area people call "Miller's Island".
option 3. Head into Clinton. When you cross over the Clinch river on the bridge, take a right and you will see the jail and a big church. Park at the back of the church in the gravel lot.
I'm sure there are many other options but these are the most commonly talked about and fished.

Thanks! Can't wait to try and get out there. I was just out on the Holston all day and its fishing pretty well. By the end of the week it should be outstanding.
