River herring, right? Pretty good size I think. What did you get 'em on, and where was this?

Steve, they are skipjack herring (also called river herring). I was fishing the Tennessee River in Chattanooga when I caught these. The flies that were working were just #4-#8 white-colored flies, just about anything... They were generally taking when I kept the flies close to the surface so the best method for me yesterday was swinging them downstream...

Nice! I think we have some that run up the French Broad near 66 bridge area...have to check it out...
