looks like we are heading out of chattanooga on may 8 to the watauga campground below the powerhouse gonna be there for 3 days hope to fish the soho on friday.........i grew up in elizabethton fishing the doe and watauga chucking corn as a kid.....havent been back for 20 years......gonna be fly fishing this trip so i need any and all infomation i can get before we head out.....particularly what flys will be working then. we fish nymps wets,drys and streamers but all our experience is on the elk, hi, and caney fork

As for drys, sulfurs are almost always one recommended by the local fly shops this time of year for both streams. You might want to check in with Eddie at http://www.flyshopoftn.com/ in Johnson City.

im thinking of a large sulpher dry, with a couple dropper nymps,, whaddya think?

I've yet to use the technique, but that's about to change after reading ChemEAngler's "SoHo Weekend" post today

Great idea. Sulphur Dun on top with a pt, or split case nymph, or rockhold sulphur emerger, or any other mayfly imitation you want to fish. Get out on a warm sunny day and you're gonna have a blast right now.
