a hatch!

Yesterday i got into a hatch right at dusk. Funny thing was that instead of trout rising, it was little bass! I had never seen anything like it. However the first fish I got to rise to my fly was big enough to break my 5x. (I think it was a big gill.) If I'd had boulders instead of rip-rap, rhododendron not maples, and current I'd swear I was trout fishing.

Know what you mean....closest thing I can relate to is watching swarming termites....when they have mated some will land on the water of a local pond and it is almost like watching a spinner fall in the mountains.
