Orvis or Ross

Guys and gals,
Quick question,

There are 2 reels I'm considering:
Ross Rhythm
Orvis Battenkill Large Arbor.

I have a Rhythm #3 on one of my rods and have liked it fine. Never used the Orvis (have a BBS size II and like it fine).

Any ideas of what's the "user noticed" difference between the Ross and the Orvis?

Any preferences and why?

Jeff,

I have three Orvis Battenkill reels and wouldn't really consider switching to another brand in the same price range. They will handle some abuse and are built to last.

I have a few of the older Ross reels, and they're good. My impression, and it's just that, is that the current models aren't the equal of the older ones. I have a few BBS and a mid-arbor, and I like them very well.

I use the Orvis Mid-Arbor on my Steelhead rig and the drag is fabulous! It looks like the drag is the same on the Large Arbor.
