What month do the Browns start spawning?

When is the start and peak of Brown Trout spawing season for the Smokies? Do they run the lake tribs like the Rainbows when they are spawning?

I did the several Rainbow spawn runs and caught a few very big fish in the spring and I would like to try my hand at browns.

I bumped this up because I have always wondered as well what the process for spawning is in the park for the bows and browns. Few Questions:

1. Do they spawn in the same waters where they primarily reside or do they actually attempt to return to a certain spot?

2. Does their coloration change?

Just curious. The wild fish of the park always fascinate me.
