View Full Version : Greenbriar Trip 8/14/08

I haven't been on the banks of trout streams as much as I like lately but I had time to have a little trip to Greenbriar Thursday. I was flying solo since the wife was at work. I hiked up to Ramsey Cascades just to get the Smokies fully back in my system. Didn't fish on the way up. I did stop on the way down and enjoy some fine fishing. Needless to say the water was really low. The fish didn't seem to mind though. Just about every good looking hole produced a good looking trout. I caught more speckles than I did bows probably around 20 total fish taken to hand. I hadn't been fishing much lately so I hadn't ate fish lately. I kept 5 for a nice country dinner when I got home. I had a blast and it was nice to be in the outdoors again! Here are a few pics.

Nice report and a good looking dinner. It has been a couple of weeks since I have been to Greenbriar. Hope to get over there and do some fishing.

May God Bless You...

Those were some good sized specks. It's been years since I've had a fried fish dinner. Brings back some memories.

You called it. 8ft. 6' in. 5wt. Helios mid flex with an orvis battenkill 3 reel along with some sharkskin. Best thing that's ever happened to me besides my wife and work of course.

I know what you mean, I love mine so far. I've only had it about 3 weeks but I've already made improvements in my accuracy and it's just plain fun to fish!
