Would you please post a few pics of you holding a dink or maybe a Smoky Mtn Cut?? It's becoming a bit tedious having to look at all these pictures of you holding these big fish  .

Nice pics! Nice fish!

PS Still thinking of hitting the Caney on Sunday?

Gerry, probably won't make the Caney this Sunday. Probably either next week or the following though...

Brett's shift rotated earlier than he thought it would, so we might be able to do the trip we talked about next Sunday in stead of or in addition to the one in October... What do you think?

Looks like some quality fish you were able to hook into. How many of those did you catch at night? Good stuff.

The scenics are amazing...good for the soul.

BTW...Did you guys camp down in the canyon on the Gunnison?

We didn't catch tons of fish at night although I hooked some good fish very very near to dark... While fishin the Gunnison, we camped at East Portal which is in the Black Canyon. It is a great little campground right on the river. It makes life easy and relaxed. Fish a little, lounge around camp, tie some flies, fish a little more, and never have to get in your car and drive anywhere... Sometime I would like to backpack into the Black Canyon. I've done day hikes in from the top and while the hike is killer, the fishing is definitely worth the agony. At East Portal, it is mainly fishing midges and scuds but farther down the canyon, you can get into lots of big dumb fish on larger flies...they just aren't picky...

Gerry, I would definitely be in for any type of trip if you guys can make it...just let me know. Shoot me an email and we can discuss specifics or give me a call some evening this week... I've got some midge patterns that were perfected in Colorado that I have yet to try on the Caney fish so I'll definitely be trying to fish it sometime soon...

Those are great photos and some nice fish as well. I have yet to venture to Colorado to fish but that will be a trip that comes soon I hope. Do you remember what the exposure was on your nightshot ? That's an interesting photo.

Wow...great pictures. I will try to do a trip like that some time - there are some areas in New Mexico that I know a little about and would like to try.

Mstone, sorry it has taken me so long to get back. I've been intending to check the exposure on my computer and reply but still don't have internet at my apartment. Off the top of my head, I want to say the aperture is either f/4 or f/5.6 and it was a 30 second exposure. I'll check on my computer eventually. I did increase the brightness quite a bit from the original picture and the contrast a little as well...
