the fishing report said "Resigster for a Trout Bum Rod" to be given away on the 12th. How do you register? Is it just an in-store promo? Can you register online? Is it a ticket chance and if so can you call and buy tickets?

Abby and I won't be in town until the 15th of October so we can't register at the store.....

See you guys in a few weeks.....

I'd be curious about this as well...Daniel keeps tempting me with those Trout Bum rods so a chance of winning one would be nice...

I need it more than you! Haha when I get enough money and time to take a break, I'm gonna come see the folks at LRO. I've invaded their forums enough, time to go see real people.

If you can't be at the shop that day, send me an email (address below) with your real name and contact information and I will enter you in the drawing.

Good luck to you all!

That's what i was thinking as well. It's an awfully nice offer and i contemplated submitting my information, but that's just way too much work. I can envision everyone and their brother e-mailing you their information.

Don't let that stop you from entering. I'm pretty fearless. ;)

It didn't stop me...just sent you an email - any chance at a free rod is too good to pass up.

See what I was talking about?

You just got a brand new rod and already you want another one...

I tried to warn you. It's an addiction:biggrin:

Gerry

PS... you do know we're talking about a small stream mountain rod...

Clearly this won't do him any good. I think we should withdraw his entry so he doesn't have the worry of a useless rod laying around...

Yes, I do know what it is lol. I do some research on my own, I think the 7'9" 5 WT would do me just fine. I'm talking about coming out to the GSMNP during Spring Break to do some fishing. One of my buddies goes to UT and he wants me to come up one weekend and hang out, and I want to tackle the SoHo or other river around there.

Definitely plan on enough time to do the SoHo in addition to any park fishing. The park can humiliate you, the SoHo can revive you.

I don't have any flies that go well with the park except for a few BWOs. How far is the SoHo and the park from UT campus?

Gerry Romer

The SoHo is about 2 hours northeast of UT and you can be in the park in about 45 minutes from campus if you really want to;)

Not only is it gonna take me the better part of 3 hours to get to Knoxville, but an additional 2 from campus? :frown: I'd just as soon take 4 trips to the Caney and still have more money leftover than if I took one trip to the SoHo and GSMNP.

So Paula when is it you are going to pick my name and tell me I won?

We'll do the drawing on Orvis Days. Probably Sunday afternoon after we close, so everyone who comes to the store has an opportunity to enter. We'll make an announcement here and on the fishing report and we will contact the winner.

Heh. I've always heard it's not good to count chickens. That probably works for rods too. I'd be worried about that now, jeffnles1, if I was you. ;)
