Dyna-King vises for smaller flies?

I've been tying now for about 3 years. Without getting into specifics, I've found a couple limitations on the vise that I'm currently using. I am now tying down to size 22's for the Clinch, and up to about a 1/0 saltwater for stripers.

I've been asked what I want for Christmas, and I believe a new vise is in order. I will not go with a Renzetti. Seagull has suggested a Regal, but there's something about them I'm just not comfortable with. I think I want a Dyna-King. Probably one of the Barracuda series. I'm pretty sure that hook holding won't be an issue, and that the larger flies will tie themselves on a 'cuda. What I'm wondering about now is the size 18 - 22's. I don't mind buying the midge jaws as well if that is what I need. I'm hoping to not have to go to a two-vise system for the sizes I normally tie.

Anyone tying to small sizes on a Barracuda (full size, Trekker, or Junior)? Does it work well, or is it problematic?

I am using the 'Cuda Trekker that I picked up from LRO and I love it. Changing the jaws is no problem at all and unit performs wonderfully (can't say that about the operator).....anyway, I would recommend the 'Cuda or either version of the 'Cuda

You won't be disappointed with a DynaKing, i have the midge jaws with my Cuda & normally don't use them til i tie smaller than a 20.

I have a dynaking and love it. Like grumpy said, you wont be disappointed.

When you start tying flies as small as 22's the midge jaws are not only nice for the holding power but for the additional room they give you to work around the fly as you tie. Look at the shape of the regular jaws and the midge jaws, you'll see the difference.

Thanks for the input, all. I looked for closeup pictures of the midge jaws, but could not find any online. However, I heard from one of Santa's elves that there may be a Dyna-King Christmas coming after all.

Almost makes me not want to tie until the 25th!
