Can anyone tell me if roaring fork is fishable right now and how does it look. That seems to be one of my more favorite spots of those mountains. Elkmont would be one of my next. But right now I am just concerned with roaring fork.

Although I cannot attest to the current status of this piece of water....I did fish it last October when the water levels were low everywhere in the park....actually had the best day of fishing the whole week there....IMHO the only area worth the effort is that last section above the final pull out back up to the next bridge....even with the low water there are still several points where you need to bushwack up the side of the gorge to get upstream....if you go let us know how it fishes this time of year....

Will do. I love that piece of water. It is easy for me to fish and still let the wife enjoy her day. When the water level is good it is not uncommon to have a 100 fish day.

flyred06,
The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail Road is closed for the season right now. To fish it you'd have to park at the bottom and walk in. I'm not sure how parking works at that store there at the end of the road.

Thanks Daniel. I did not know they closed it down this time of year.
