Alright I finally had time to run by my second home, LRO, and pick up some new material. I ordered some japanese nymph legs but they haven't come in yet. So for the time being I picked up some span flex. Oliver Edwards is the only one I know who ties a strong pattern to represent a clinger. Dad bought his video close to 3 years ago and I remembered his pattern. So after two days of looking for it I called dad to ask him if he had some sticky back lead to borrow for another pattern and he said he also had Oliver's vid. So I borrowed it again, watched it, wanted to find a way to simplify it, and make if look a little more realistic.
Alot is the same and the span flex legs gotta go! But it's a good start to a great pattern. The abdomen is just about the perfect color, should look great wet. I've cut out about 5 steps on his original pattern and I like the over all look of the fly. It still has work and a little more perfection but here it is!

Here's one of Oliver's other ties!
