New fishing spot

My dad and I are planning on fishing this Saturday. We've fished just about everywhere you can in the park on a day trip. We are looking for some new water that might be productive. I was wondering about the stream that runs through Cades Cove. Has anyone ever fished it? Maybe we could start at Cable Mill and fish back there.

We've never hiked into the upper reaches of Deep Creek from Newfound Gap before. Is that something a 60 year old man can do in a day? I'm sure I could make it but I'm not sure about dad.

Any other suggestions?

Dad already put the stop on the Deep Creek trip.

This is definitely a great time to hit Cataloochee. Should be a lot of bugs coming off this weekend and there is a lot of good dry fly water over there. If you just want something different, you might try Noland or some of the other NC waters. Lower Deep Creek should fish well also but the crowds might be bad...
