Any guesses? The acrylic is in the dry prosses, then the legs, then more acrylic, more dry time, then the wings, then on to the head, a coat of varnish and before the varnish sets a touch of hair/cdc fine fibers!
I'm learning this whole realistic thing as I go! I don't like the positioning on the hook but as I said I'm learning as I go!
Long live the bobbin!

Alright through to round two! Just gotta add the wings, trim up a few things, add the bald spot on the thorax and fin!

I'm happy with it...Nah, maybe it still needs a little tweaking...I also wanted it to be a bee, but since the yellow came out wrong I'm undoubtably calling it a yellow jacket! The wings are a little big but I'm afraid to go messing with them now that they're attached.
Wing material and me getting my Tennessee Pride on! I took the wrapping paper and scored it several times with a pair of scissors.
Cheers it's addictive!

I'm done with it. It's about as close to a bee without being a bee. I learned a few things tying it that I will undoubtably put to good use eventually. Thank goodness for forums...I figured out how to better apply the hair next time thanks to a nice fellow from another forum.
This fly looks sharp from about a foot away...Can't tell it's an imposter!

Beautiful fly. I must ask though -- is this for catching fish or fishermen?
