Just returned from my annual Spring trip from Pennsylvania. My son and I spent Tuesday April 14 through Saturday April 18th in the park working from Townsend. As always, the LRO staff were helpful and courteous. We fished Abrams, Middle Prong, East Prong, Bradley Fork and Oconaluftee.

Did you see what was going on with the "Prescribed Burn" while you were in the Metcalf area? It was pretty smokey driving through that area. Like Trey, I got almost up to the park boundary from Wears Valley before being turned around.

Light Hendrickson/Red Quill on most of the Little River, a few March Browns were starting and small Grey or Black Caddis, 16-18. There were also Blue Quills or BWOs.

Regarding the Prescribed Burn, as we left the area just below Metcalf Picnic area, I took this shot of the hillside above the river:
