O.K. here we go, I was just sitting here reading the many threads and kept seeing folks from different states. That got me to wondering....... how many of the states from this Great Nation of ours are represented here on the LRO message board. I think it would be cool to see what a broad slice of the American Pie is enjoying the opportunity that Byron, Paula & Daniel have afforded us with this forum....

If you want to participate, you can respond with a brief message (if you chose) and the state where you currently reside....

I have posted all states alphabetically in BLACK font, then as a state is represented I will change the font to Orange. No significance to orange, I just thought it would be respectful for the state that gave us LRO.

If you want to participate.... post away (even if your state is represented already)

See alot of you folks @ Troutfest

ps....click on a state and you should get a state info site..

I am from Ohio, but I cherish the time that Abby and I get to spend in the park and the Townsend area. In fact we are coming down for Troutfest and hope to meet alot of those we haven't met yet and renew some old friendships that we've made in prior visits.....

Pennsylvania in the house. Lived in Knoxville 1985-1988 and discovered the park then. Wasn't a fly flinger, but did fish in Gatlinburg with a friend when he visited from Florida. Later, after returning to PA in 1990, I took up fly fishing and eventually had an opportunity to visit the park with the specific purpose of trying the long rod on those beauteous streams. I was green to the sport and though I caught a couple trout, my skills improved and I thought I deserved another shot at those fishes. I organized a group trip with 7 other near strangers from across PA and came down in April 2006. We did it again, with a slightly altered group in 2007. Couldn't make it happen in '08, but made it back this year with my son only. I hope to make it a yearly trip, whether with my son or whatever small group I can put together.

I enjoy reading about park fishing all year-round and particular like seeing folks' pictures. If anyone will be in Pennsylvania to fish and needs advice, let me return the favor and give me a shout for any advice you may need.

Jack, where in PA do you live? I've done some trips up to boiling springs some and might try and make it up there again this year.

I live in southwest PA, but have fished all over, including the Harrisburg area. I may still be able to help out that way, so if you're heading up, give me a yell.

The information posted for Florida fails to list the U. of F. Gators as a major sports team...big oversight....I am a native Floridian but my mother's family is from Sevierville...began fishing the mountains with my grandfather at age 13 and will celebrate my 50th anniverary of catching my first trout next year....caught my first trout on Porter's Creek in Greenbrier and my son who has taken up the habit is named Porter....what a coincidence?!?

Since nobody from Georgia has spoken up yet, I'll do the honors.

This is a great idea! I live in Tennessee and I see it is allready represented; however I am a North Carolinian born and bred. I spent the first 26 yrs of my life there. I do love to fish in both TN and NC, I get the best of both, Trout in the streams here in TN, and Saltwater fish in NC.
