tent camping near south holston tailwater

Several of us are heading to the South Holston to fish Memorial Day weekend. Is there a place near the South Holston tailwater to tent camp? We teach and can't afford cabins. Thanks for any help. David Moore. :smile:

We stayed at cherokee trails last June in one of their cabins... Super cheap and beat sleeping on the ground

We have camped off of a certain trail that leads to good river access. I am not going to give specifics, but it is on TVA land. :)

Really. I knew that I have seen people hunting on the TVA land, kind of scary when you are walking through there. However, I did not know that they allowed camping.

Its not really spoken about, and the land we use is on the backside of where the weirs and everything is.
