I am looking for a fishing partner for Wednesday 06/03. Somewhere in the Smokies. I normally fish alone and have to skip some of the more adventurous fishing as a favor to the wife.

Perhaps I should have been more specific. I have been interested in doing the same trip that PeteCz wrote about (the upper portion of Deep Creek) for a while now. I have fished up to #55 but have never been in the upper section.

I ended up getting a late call from another board member. I had already decided against the Deep Creek trip and had decided to go above Elkmont. We got on the stream around 11:30 and hiked up a bit before fishing.

I caught some nice rainbows and lost a few more. The water levels looked great. I stayed with the same setup all day and didn’t feel any need to change. The guy who went with me is a somewhat of a newbie to the Park but was also able to land a nice bow.

The day was cut short due to a torrential downpour. The bugs were sporadic. We ran accross a couple snakes, several deer and two big owls.
