Hit Avery Creek yesterday for about four hours. Fished a yellow stimulator the entire time. Caught enough fish that I stopped counting. It seemed that every good cast produced a bite(not a catch), but quite a few fish did come to hand. All were rainbows except for one brookie that must have been a stocker that wandered up from the Davidson. Nothing of any great size, the biggest were probably in the 8" range. Heres a few pictures from my day.

Resulted in lots of these.

I fished the headwaters of Looking Glass Creek on Thursday evening. Beautiful wild rainbows and specs on dries.

Thanks guys.

Tarheel, its been a while since I've fished Looking Glass creek and I've never fished the headwaters. I'll have to check that out sometime.

Carolina Boy, I'm in the upstate so it only takes me about an hour to hit some N.C. trout.

It's as pristine as they come! If you can hike away from the road, it's twice as pristine. Just watch out for the bears.

Matt i thought you were gonna call me next time you went? Hope things are going well and still need to meet up and go fishing again. We have unfinished business on a certain stream in that area.

Craig,

I thought it might be a little too soon after your wedding to be bothering you. I'll definitely let you know next time. Hope married life is treating you well.
