Just wanted to give a report of my trip with Mr. Hartsell on Thursday. I have been flyfishing for a long time but needed to get better at nymphing, especially on small streams. I have always leaned more to dry flies but knew I could catch more fish under the surface. I learned a tremendous amount from Mr. Hartsell on nymphing. He was very patient as I had alot of new methods to integrate simultaneously to be successful. The water was high after a strong storm the night before but Mr. Hartsell was diligent in trying to find good water at several different spots in the park. I thoroughly enjoyed spending a day with a Southern gentleman with as much to teach. I still have alot of practice to do but feel that I have a good idea about what I should be doing.
Many thanks to all on the board that recommended Mr. Hartsell.

Good morning Jed,
It was a pleasure to be able to guide you a couple of days ago. The weather, and water conditions were tough, but you got right in there and did just exactly what was necessary to learn all of the techniques that will help you many times in the future. It's great watching someone pick up all the things that will be there ready to use when you're on the stream again. I could not have asked for a better student or a gentleman on the water. Good luck to you as you make your way to new and different streams this summer.
I hope that some of you get a chance to meet Jed when he is back in the Smokies again.
Hugh
