Judging by the storm track, it doesn't look like the Smokies are going to take a direct hit by the heavy rains and tornadoes tropical systems are known for upon (and throughout) impact with land. Might get some rain (which is always welcome) but, hopefully nothing that will flood out Little River.

TS (soon to be Hurricane) Bill is expected to strenghten to a Cat 3 as soon as Wednesday. 29.94 (994 mb) and dropping... By midnight tonight, it's forecasted to strenthen to a Cat 1 with winds between 74 and 86 mph. Anybody from FL to New England is fair game for this angering storm. If it hits the OBX as a Cat 3 or higher, the OBX will be anhilated...

Surfin days are pretty much over for me not to many waves rolling into western NC! Now when i go to the beach I chase tail.....I'll leave that up to interpretation!

You can ride the waves and wakes I make when I clumsily wade around the Hiwassee River... To the trout, they're tsunamis...

Well Bill is getting stronger Fox has a really nice page with tons of info for all you weather enthusiasts. I love the weather and have been really interested in the weather for as far back as I can remember, guess that is a product of growing up in hurricane zone. Plus if your gonna surf the east coast you better know about weather, winds, tides, swell directions....or you'll end up looking at a big lake!
