Thanks, Rivergal. It was a great birthday - got to take both my kids (28 and 30) out fishing. Beautiful day, great time.

Great Job Charlie! Glad to know the flies are working. I'll have to tie up some more for you...

Chalk another one up Charlie! Nice fish!

Happy birthday...a little late!

10/11/09 - Cypress Creek AL - I have no idea of the name of the dry fly this guy took - looks to be about a #16 and it has some orange on it -

Hard to tell from this angle but looks like a #16 orange thing-a-ma-jigger. One of my personal favorites. Congrats on keeping it going!

Ive already posted my pic of the 'bow, in the smoky mountain fly fishing thread. So heres a pic of a 17" brown i caught in KY, the Suday I before i came down there Oct. 4. I caught her and the bow on the exact same fly, an orang Stimi and it has since been retired to the hat.

Little River brown caught on a nymph pattern...

Good thing we're not counting cumulative poundage - you'd be ahead by a mile. Nicely done.

10-20-2009, 08:45 PM
So true Charlie....so true. Nice brown David!

"Caught on a nymph pattern" I do believe the rules state you be a little more specific. Please include exact location!

No worries...half the time I have both and still can't catch them:eek:

Nothing much to look at, but it is a fish. Only chance I have had to get out all month long.

Clinch River, Oct 2nd, Wooly Bugger.

I usually spend some time in the smokies each fall, but didn't make it this year. So I spent some time in the mountains a little closer to home this month. First, Laurel Fork brown, I think it was on an ant

To bad, there are no pretty spots to fish on this stream

Also spent some time on the Doe River at

Landed some small 'bows and lost a couple of good ones
also caught some browns mostly on a parachute adams

Good time of year to be out. I was still wet-wading on Laurel Fork, but wore the wading pants on Doe River.

Nice pics, too bad I didn't make it up there this fall. Next spring I'm going to fish a stretch up there where you have to sign in at the office.

I haven't been able to fish much this month...working too much and limping around too much, as well. Managed about 1.5 hrs this morning in the pouring rain. Lots of flow and tons of leafs don't make for very good dry fly fishing, but it is the "One" fish per month thread...

WPLP - Below the Chimneys Picnic Area
#14 Orange Stimulator - with a leaf tangled in....

We've got to do better than this. Way too much work, way too little fishing! For some reason, I couldn't get any hits on a stimulator on Tues (hookie day from work). Is that one of your oranges stimis?

Hope you'll forgive my tardiness in posting, I meant to do it last night but ran out of time. Tonight was my birthday party so I finally have a moment.

Caught in the Stones River just as night was setting in, on a muddler minnow.

Trey, Just curious, did you catch him in the Stones, below the dam or above it? Silvercreek

Not only have the rules changed allowing people to post after the month is over, but even when I do post on time you ignore it (post #21)...

We all appreciate the work you do...don't take it personal, I'm sure its just an oversight...(I hope...)

Earthworx....Good looking red and love the visor...Go Gators...did a lot of flyfishing around Melrose while I was at Gainesville.

11-16-2009, 07:25 PM

Sorry about that, it has been a busy month. I caught that Earthworx was late, but I missed that Worrgamesguy was late. I will correct the list later tonight and repost.

Thanks for keeping me in check with this list. I promise I don't intentionally leave you off the list, I can't explain how it seems to happen to you everytime.

Updated as of 8:40pm.
