After reading the fishing report, I decided to look up the harvest records for bear vs boar. According to TWRA, for the period 9/1/09 to 10/11/09 205 bear have been taken in Tennessee. For all of 2009 to date only 72 boar have been taken. That's pretty remarkable when only a third of a species have been taken in an entire year vs just a month and a half for another species. I don't think you have to report boar if you harvest them. You can but it's not required. It may be required in WMA hunts or in National Forests though. Thanks for the well wishes. My first goal is to not get shot. Goal #2 is to shoot a boar. I hope to see some bear.

Byron, I don't know what your plans are for after the shot, but I'd like to suggest Morgan's Meats in Madisonville. Their wild hog sausage is excellent.

I think Sam Curtis recommended them. We'll probably spread the harvest out to several processors. (Smiley Face)

If you can get some of the hide, I would like to have a small piece for some Smallmouth flies. Boar hide that is!
