Ok... Need a little help.

I had asked for some help on areas that were fairly accessible to take my mother fly fishing (we're here this week). I got some suggestions of easy access which were great, but now I have another problem.

She is ok walking, but is having some trouble navigating in the water through the large rocks (her knee was hurting last week, but better this week- still giving a little problem though).

I just need to take her somewhere that is easy for her to wade once she gets in the water.

We hit above Elkmont today, but it was too rough for her to do much.

Also went to Greenbriar, and in the lower section she was ok (lots of smaller gravel without as many big rocks). Didn't do so hot though- I got a couple of small bows, but se only had a few strikes (partly due to the learning curve though).

Metcalf seemed to be a little smoother, but I didn't get out to check it- she was worn out after Elkmont.

Any places that are pretty easy wading without the large rocks that are rough on her knees?

I've never fished the NC side of the park- anything over that way?

I thought about taking her over to the reservation for some stockers, but I'm not sure what the terrain is like in the water over there.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

By the way- I did get quite a few pretty decent strikes on a yellow humpy. Had a few on an Adams and orange stimulator, but they seemed to like the Humpy.

The Lufftee has a few nice long runs with not much trouble, the trophy section would be good for her because she would not have to constantly wade up stream, the big fish stay in one area like tailwaters so that might be really good your Mom, plus she can hook a monster which is cool, big muddlers with a split shot on the nose kills em! You won't find too many stretches in the park that fit that description. I would probably be going to tailwaters if I was you...

Completely agree... then take a fold out camping chair for her to sit in the water and fish...done this several times with others...

I recommend the weir on the Clinch. There is a small concrete landing just above the weir that would be perfect!
