View Full Version : Nice Stripers

Finally found some stripers that were larger than the 4-8 pound fish I was catching a couple of months ago. The smallest fish were around 14-15 pounds and the largest were well over 20. Best flies are anything that resembles the shad that are available to the stripers...

OK...I'll go ahead and post a picture of mine.
Oh, wait. I didn't get a call to inform me of monster striper fun time.
Nevermind.

Are these tailwater fish or are you fishing a lake? It looks like you have chap waders on in your photo so I assumed you were wading. If so, I didn't realize you could get into stripers that size wading tailwaters around here.

David, Trevor, those are great fish. I'm sure that was a battle on the 7wt. You should post them over on CFF for Bluefish(Charlie) to see. Congrats on landing them.

Nice! I mean really nice:smile: I've caught a few that large but never on a fly rod.
