Anybody got any recommendations? Chenille, hackle, tail colors?

If the Elk is like most other stocked trout fisheries, A black or olive, gold beadhead #6 bugger will work. I like a combo of the 2.
A #6 streamer hook, tungsten beadhead for weight, Black/olive varigated med chenille, med dark olive maribou tail with a hint of krystal flash tied in and olive bugger hackle. I don't care for the cheap dyed saddle hackles.
This has worked for me on the Holston, Hiwasee, Watauga, SoHo, and the Norfork in Ark.

Some days chartreuse chenile body and chartreuse maribou works when nothing else will.

Hey bro. Yep I use Black with some silver in it or olive with some silver or orange to mimic crayfish.
