smallmouth bass in wears valley area?

my son in law is in town and is wondering a good public place to catch some smallmouth bass.he is not a fly-fisherman, but is willing to try any water.thanks for any info that is provided.

Little Pigeon has plenty of access as does the Little in Townsend.
