Beaufort, SC update

Quick update on the Beaufort area fishing. Cobia have started showing up in the Broad river...and should continue to heat up.

Redfish - These fish should be on the flats by the next decent tide. I went to a flat on Sunday, and we saw about 5 fish. The majority stayed just off of the flat in the transitional grass, but several were spotted tailing. Only a couple of waves before disappearing. The schools are starting to break up some, and if the warm weather continues wading for tailing fish should be just around the corner.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the redfish are getting ready to run. I was in Islamorada, in the Keys about a month ago, and there was a wide spread feeling at several fly shops and guides that the cold snap that hit Florida may have severly impacted the redfish population. It appears that they came through just fine. Good news.

I cannot comment on numbers yet, too soon. I will say that the few times I was able to fish the low tide in a boat we caught plenty of fish, so I have not seen a marked effect at this point anyway.
