Little River - April 17th

The wife and I fished Elkmont on Saturday. Beautiful day filled with several bows enticed by the nymph. I took the point & shoot and took a few pictures but nothing special. I started going through my vest to make sure I had everything for tomorrow and forgot that I hadn't removed all the trash and treasures that we came across.

BTW, that trillium shot is great. Nice composition and balance of light and shadow to really make the flower pop.

You reckon that big bug was a dragonfly nymph? I bet that sucker is a serious aquatic predator as far as bugs are concerned.

It's a big stonefly. I don't think that a dragonfly nymph is related. But I just learning the bugs. I picked it up and never could get to come back out of the fetal position.

Usually they will open up when they hit the bottom of the stream ...... or when the crawl up on a rock to emerge! Somebody must have had a little much fun up at Elkmont the night before, and lost their bongo(s). That or someone got sick of listening to them!
