Father's Day Reds

I got a break from yardwork on Sunday, and the tides were favorable so I got to go redfishing. I ended up catching two, and breaking off a third fish. The two I caught each had four spots....

The best news is that the tides are favorable all week long! I will hopefully be posting some more pictures this week. I am getting better with using the timer on my camera, but I still managed to cut my head off in the one picture.

Atta Boy John, nice fish! Man I wish I could get down there too. I have been slammed lately. Had the mex trip and wva tourney, now I got a bunch of Healing Waters stuff going on. and my final Grad school class is now in session so it's been nutz, I am hoping to head south sometime in July and Aug to stick a few reds for sure! Glad to see your still wearin em out!

Those are fantastic looking fish. I've got a friend who lives on the SC coast ....
What constitutes favorable tides - low or high?

This time of year it is the high tides that are fishing well. You normally want something over 7.7 foot, with your better tides being in the 8 range (corrected for the area you are fishing). In the spring, and winter your low tides flats (if you have access to a flats boat) produce the best.
