View Full Version : The adventures of Grannyknot and Grouseman77

Grannyknot and I had decided last week that we would go and poke around over in the Greenbriar area today.

We met up at 5:30 this morning to beat the heat. I told him that I might be a little slower than usual today. The wife and I did the Boulevard Trail yesterday and my legs were just a little bit tired this morning.

Things were a little slow for a few minutes then the fishing picked up a bit. Great day overall and it's always nice to go out and catch one or two.

A few shots from the day:

We ran into a good number of these guys.

Pretty good sized rainbow for the stretch of stream it was pulled out of.

That line is tight! The banjo minnow gets em every time.

Grannyknot working the tail of a decent little pool.

Way too serious (or tired) to crack a smile.

The face of a serious spec hunter.

Looks like a lot more fun (and less physically demanding) than the Boulevard Trail. That last mile is a killer.

Grouseman failed to mention the one that had its way with his tippet and got away. He let out a hollar like he had been bit by a rattlesnake. :p

I almost lost my camera, trying to do a fancy pants underwater shot, the fish decided to set the dropper hook right into my index finger and I dropped the camera and watched it take off downstream. Somehow it got hung on a rock and I was able to retrieve it....extremely lucky.

I'll add some pictures to this soiree.

Grouseman fishes a run on the lower stretch.

One of the locals

This guy managed to feast on a stimulator and a weenie.

I enjoy taking close-ups of amphibians.

Grouseman prepares to hoist himself up over this obstacle.

A drop of water on the lens resulted in a terrible picture, but this beefcake gave me a chuckle.

Nice:smile: Just shows you don't have to be good looking to catch fish;)

If I were good looking, I sure as heck wouldn't be hiding in the woods on the weekends. I'd be on the wide open clinch, where all the ladies can see me. Standing on a rock doing my best shadow cast, of course.

LoL. Everybody knows chicks dig shadow casters....

I just got off the phone with Paula. Apparently LRO wants to use pictures of Granny and I in one of their mail ads to lure more women into the shop.

Happens to me all the time. Go fishing in the mountains and next thing I know, a half dozen women are following me around and taking a new interest in fly fishing.

Of course, it only happens when I'm with my teen age son and the young ladies seem to have much more interest in him than in me, but...
