Grannyknot and I had decided last week that we would go and poke around over in the Greenbriar area today.

We met up at 5:30 this morning to beat the heat. I told him that I might be a little slower than usual today. The wife and I did the Boulevard Trail yesterday and my legs were just a little bit tired this morning.

Things were a little slow for a few minutes then the fishing picked up a bit. Great day overall and it's always nice to go out and catch one or two.

Looks like a lot more fun (and less physically demanding) than the Boulevard Trail. That last mile is a killer.

Grouseman failed to mention the one that had its way with his tippet and got away. He let out a hollar like he had been bit by a rattlesnake. :p

I almost lost my camera, trying to do a fancy pants underwater shot, the fish decided to set the dropper hook right into my index finger and I dropped the camera and watched it take off downstream. Somehow it got hung on a rock and I was able to retrieve it....extremely lucky.

I'll add some pictures to this soiree.

If I were good looking, I sure as heck wouldn't be hiding in the woods on the weekends. I'd be on the wide open clinch, where all the ladies can see me. Standing on a rock doing my best shadow cast, of course.

Happens to me all the time. Go fishing in the mountains and next thing I know, a half dozen women are following me around and taking a new interest in fly fishing.

Of course, it only happens when I'm with my teen age son and the young ladies seem to have much more interest in him than in me, but...
