HEWES, ROBERT DALE, 86, of Miami passed away at his home on Sunday, June 27 in peace with his family at his side, falling asleep after holding everyone's hand for the last time. He was loved by everyone who knew him and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ida, two daughters, Deborah Feeger(Joel) and Lorrie Wihorg ( James); five grandchildren, Kim, Jennifer, Kristen, Amy and Brian; three great grandchildren, Abbey, Emma and Hunter. Bob Hewes was involved in the Marine business going back to childhood working with his dad, and founded the Bob Hewes Boats Enterprises, now run by his family. Bob's love of boats was unparalled and he invented the model boat that started the sport of flats fishing called The Bob Hewes Bonefisher.Bob's first daughter Heidi Hewes passed away with cancer at an early age. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to the Heidi Hewes Foundation. Memorial Service will be held on the Hewes 64th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, June 30th at 4:00p.m. at the Miami Shores Presbyterian Church, 602 NE 96th Street.
