Holston trip

Well, We made it back over to the Holston for a short float in the kayak. We put in about 10:00 and fished until about 2:00. The fishing was slow to start, but it picked up about 12:00. We tried several flies but the wiggle minnow, white and chartreuse, was the ticket. My friend and I picked up about 8 smallies a piece in about an hour and a half. All of the fish were in the 1 to 1 1/2 pound range, but it was a lot of fun. Cant wait to go again when I have a little more time. Of course I left my camera at home,,,,again!

Sounds like a good trip. One of my favorite things about fishing rivers is how bass will bite all day long if you are in the right spots!
