You know how when things have been extra stressful how something like meatloaf and mashed potatoes just takes the edge off and makes you feel a little more human again? Well, on Friday, I went to one of my favorite spots to fish after a week that was frought with stress - just needed a break.
My spot blessed me with two trout in the first 5-10 minutes. All in all a beautiful day with a double digit catch (none of them extraordinary) but my virtual "meatloaf" did the trick. Got away for a few hours, forgot the stress of the week, was physically spent at the end and much better equipped to come back to reality.
Thank God for fly fishing (and meatloaf).
