Headed out for my last bit of fishing before I head to the sandbox at the end of the week. One year tour in NW Afghanistan.

Nice cool day, waited till the mid afternoon thunder storms moved out the Sunday drivers and had the mountain almost to myself. Slipped into a little beaver pond I had been meaning to check out saw all the skeeters buzzing and started throwing the fish skeeters and hatching midges in #19.

Hold the fort down back east and hopefully I'll be able to fish the Smokies or SNP when I come home from this trip.

Bones,
Glad you got a chance to go fishing before your deployment. Nice brookie.

As the other guys have said, thank you for your service and please take care of yourself over there. The Smoky's will be here waiting for you when you get back.

Thanks for the kind words folks. Headed out tomorrow. Hope Byron don't delete me. Internet is a few years in coming where I'm headed. May get to check the board on R&R leave; looking forward to seeing pics from the summer and spawned browns and brookies from the fall.

Bones,

Be safe over there! I appreciate your efforts in fighting for our country. My nephew was over there last year for around 7 months in a Special Forces Unit. Seems he due for another deployment in the near future the way things are going.
