Hey everyone, just looking for some input on 8 to 9 wt rods. I generally tend to look for discontinued models when buying a rod as they are good and generally cheaper. A good deal on a new rod is always fine though.

Sage 908 launch series. You will fall in love with it. I have one and it has become a favorite for me.

Give the shop a call. We've got several discontinued 8wts at the moment.

Thanks for the input y'all.

D-Drake, do you know which discontinued models the shop has at the moment?

I am still in the market for a rod and was seeing if I could get some more input. For a rod of this size I like moderate to fast rods. Thanks

I own 2 TFO 8 wts. Bought them both of of ebay and got a good discount. They are great casting and do well for fly fishing in saltwater. Also TFO's warranty policy is great!

I have an 8wt. and a 10wt. TFO mid-flex 9' rods that I use for fishing the flats, and the mangrove water. You might want to consider getting mid-flex rods as you need the power to fling heavier flies, and also battle the wind which always seems to be present in coastal areas, besides having heavier fish on the line.
