The cranefly is a hot bug this time of year so here is an idea to try.Size 16 is just about the right size.Be safe

Thats a great looking crane fly. Would you mind sharing the receipe?
Looks like ginger hackle with dubbing, but what is the leg material?

thread: 8/0 yellow
underwrap with foam/med brown dubbing
wings: brown hen hackle tips
legs: squirrel tail
give it a try ....it might work

Thanks for the recipe, I'll definitely give it a try. I like crane flies, and apparently so do the trout! :biggrin:
Good idea to use the foam to keep the fly on top of the water.
