Any recommandations for guides in Laramie WY for the North Platte. Planning a backpacking and flyfishing trip in July.

Thanks in advance

You might try this guy. I haven't used his guides, but he freely gave a lot of useful information.

Heavynets,

Try Phil McGrath out of Stoney Creek Outfitters. The phone number is 307-710-3952. His e-mail was McGrathfishingservices@hotmail.com. I am not sure if he is still there, but he was young but was one of the hardest working guides I have ever used. The outfitters shop is in Saratoga.

I would also suggest getting some good information about fishing on your own. Wyoming land laws are pretty tough.

In Wyoming, the landowner owns the stream bottom and can easily own segmented portions on both sides of the stream. One section they may only have up to mid stream, then own the whole bottom just upstream. They usually post, but it doesn't hurt to stop and get permission. I heard somewhere that in Colorado, YOU are legally responsible for knowing where property boundaries are and They DON"T have to post them.(Anyone knowfor sure?)

Here is a website that has some interesting information about stream trespass law. There seems to be a conflict between some states' laws and federal supreme court rulings. If you have very deep pockets and 4 or 5 years you MIGHT be ably to beat those Wyoming trespass laws.
