Where's a good place to find them in the winter? Thought about going to the little p or the holston today. What do you guys think?

jerk bait in the wind on tims ford off a point

or a crank bait (Rapala DT6 Crawdad color) off a rocky deep bank

but on a fly rod i have no idea????

you'll probably be wasting your time trying to fish the rivers for smallies this time of year. They are deep. Fish the lakes like Big Max is doing. Norris, South Holston lake or Dale Hollow are good winter time fisheries for smallies. The float&fly tech is very popular. It is possible to use the fly rod and fish a jig fly under an indicator about 10-15ft deep or just use a full sink line 400grain to get down to where they are. A boat with a graph to locate suspended fish would be a big help.
