Caney Water levels

Last summer we drifted the Caney and the water was low. We had to drag the boat across a couple of low spots. Last Thursday we drifted the same stretch and did not have to drag the boat at all. In both cases the generators were off and had been for a while. Since we have only been there twice, was the water low last summer because of no rain, or, is this a typical pattern on this river? Also, what are some favorite fly sizes and patterns on the Caney Fork? Thanks.

The windows without generation right now are short enough that the river isn't really getting to drain all the way down to low water before the generators start pushing water again. With the higher volume releases right now, the river will take longer to fall out as well after generation...
