One year ago tonight, my grandmother passed out of this life to spend eternity with the Lord. A lot of you guys said prayers for us as we grieved. Our family is strong and while I miss her a great deal, I know where she is and the next time I see her, she won't be old and sick.

I just wanted to say again how much the prayers meant and say a quick word of thanks.

Our grandparents leave us too soon making the holidays painful. Her children and grandchildren are the shining stars in her crown. I am sure she was greeted in her heavenly home with the words "Well done, faithful servant."

The holidays are mixed emotions. Joy on one hand, grief on the other. Our family has lost several family and friends this time of year. Remember Paul's words- Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
I trust this year will be a meaningful one for all.

Christmas was always a special time for my grandparents and my mom...all who were from this area of the mountains...Christmas always meant traveling to the mountains and renewing relationships with family...while these particular people have passed on and the season brings back the longing to see them again it reinforces the love and caring that was shown to us "kids and grandkids" and again warms the heart...they live on in memories and stories until we get to see them again.

That you remember her so fondly is a testament to the kind of person she must have been. Family is so precious, and life on this earth so short.

Just as the rivers we love are joined to the land, inseparable, they are a part of our very being, our thoughts, our hearts; our very souls are entwine with them. And their love comforts us all our days.
