I got out of the house on Saturday 1-31 and hit Old Hickory Lake. It was a perfect day, 60 degrees and sunny. Water was clear to about 4 ft. deep. Got out onto the lake and put in at about 10:30, and we reached our spot and started fishing at about 11:00. Our target fish for the day were "Skip Jack" and stripers. I realized right away that I need to invest into a sinking line, my float line worked fine once I attached 2 sinking tips to it, giving me a 12ft sinking section. This got me down to where the Skip Jacks were, and the excitement started! They pull hard and do lots of jumping, giving them the name "Tennessee Tarpon". By the end of the day I hauled in about 40 Skips, all ranging between 10-20 inches and 1-2+ pounds, and all caught on size1-2 Clouser patterns. What a great way to break in my new TFO 8wt.
