It's that time of year again...
Since the Olives will be out and about soon, I thought I'd post a couple of emerger/nymph patterns that I've been tying.
This first one is essentially a Barr Emerger.

This next one is one that I came up with that is very similar to the Barr Emerger. It's basically the same fly, but I opted to leave off the tail and add some black ultra wire for a ribbed abdomen.

I really like the dubbing that I used on thorax for these flies. It has a tiny bit of flash with a bit of rusty brown mixed in with the olive fibers. I think it resembles the actual insect while adding an "attraction" factor, without going over the top.
