Scientific Anglers Textured Fly Line

Anybody out there given this stuff a try yet?

My fly line typically lasts 2 years if I clean and condition it after every 4 or 5 trips. My 5-wt is coming up on 2 years now, and starting to show some wear after averaging >30 days/yr on the water. This line is supposed to cast and float like sharkskin, but without the abrasiveness, noise, and price.

I've heard the same thing about the SA Textured line. My local fly shop has some on order, but it hasn't arrived yet. We're going to try it out when it does arrive though.

The regular Sharkskin IS abrasive for sure. Didn't care for it, you have to wear a stripping glove to keep the skin on your line hand. Wonder what SA was thinking about when they introduced it. :confused:

i have sharkskin on my 4wt had 9wt and have no problems what so ever with the texture. Although this could be from the fact that I don't have "dish pan" hands either....;)
