Decided to try something besides trout fishing today and headed to my local golf course. The bluegill were extremely active and some of the whoppers decided to show their faces.

Here are a few pics on this rainy sunday...

Thats realy cool. I've never thought about fishing at a golf course pond before. Good looking fly too. Did you tie it?

Ya...I copyed the fly from one of the patterns at LRO. They work even better for stocked trout.

Nice one Lee. Tie some of those krystal buggers in olive also. very good on stocker trout, smallies and in smaller sizes, 12,10 and 8, they work pretty good on bream. add in some rubber legs also.
I'll probably be tying some warm water patterns at Troutfest again this year also. see ya then.

i've caught a ton of bluegills in my lifetime since i grew up on lake wateree in s.c., but that's a whopper in anybody's book! nice job; didn't know you were allowed to hit the golf courses up here; in s.c. they'll flip out (i've been thrown out of many of them!) once even had a guy walk up and cut the line on a NICE fish that crushed a frog coming through the lily pads; probably over 7 lbs, and then said "no fishing allowed here". i was practically in the BACK YARD of a very good friend who lived on the course, didn't seem to matter...
