Started out a bit slow today. The fish were hitting dries from about 2:30 to 5:30 or so. Only saw a few fish rising to real insects. Pretty tough other than that. Lots of bugs hatching. Little black stones, medium brown stones, small dark caddis, blue quills, and the occasional quill gordon. The water is a bit higher than I like but not bad at all. All the fish I caught looked healthy, the same time last year the fish in this spot seemed a bit skinny.

Great underwater shots! Especially of the trout under water!

What stream is that?

It is West Prong of the Little Pigeon.

jross, I'll be heading home tomorrow.

Fished Little River for a while today. Lots of stoneflies and some blue quills. Only caught two fish, both on a blue quill dry, and missed a few takes. Fish were rising, but were very picky.

Wow! That river bend looks inviting along the rock wall! Nice pics! Nice trout!

Thanks. Home now, but can't wait to go back.

It is hard to get good photos in such harsh sunlight.

There was what looked to be a brown rising in that dark spot just to the right of the bit of whitewater near the center of the photo of the bend. I got him to hit my fly twice, but one of us missed each time. Couldn't get him to come up again. Also saw a couple of rainbows at the tail of the pool on my way back to the car.
